Our Pine Level customers are spread from the US-31 corridor to Autauga Creek and out around the Autauga County line, and we serve the surrounding Autauga County communities on the same schedule.
A lot of what we see in Autauga County comes down to age. Houses built decades ago have solid frames with tired hardware; houses built recently have sound hardware in frames that are still settling.

These are the storefront door repair faults we are called out to most often in Pine Level. If you recognise one, the underlying cause is usually the second half of the line.
- Water blowing under the door during stormsFailed sweep and threshold seal.
- The pivot has developed vertical playA worn top pivot bushing, which lets the whole door move and accelerates every other fault.
- A gap along the meeting stile on a pair of doorsDoors out of alignment or worn weatherstrip between them.
- The push bar or pull handle is looseFasteners working out of the aluminum stile.
- The glass moves within the rail when the door is pushedFailed setting blocks or glazing tape, which puts load onto the glass edge rather than the frame.
- There is a crescent-shaped wear mark on the thresholdThe door is riding on the bottom pivot's failing bearing and scribing the sill as it swings.

Click to Call (205) 619-2895What we see on storefront door repair around Autauga County
Summers here are long and genuinely hot, and afternoon thunderstorms arrive most days in July. Anything that relies on a rubber seal ages fast under that combination of UV and heat.
Humidity and condensation work on the steel components inside aluminum entrance hardware, and the deadlatch and cylinder are the first things to stiffen up.
Sun on a south or west facing storefront expands the aluminum through the afternoon and degrades the weatherstrip and glazing gaskets, so the door fits differently at closing time than it did at opening.
We factor that in on every storefront door repair job around the Autauga County line and the rest of Pine Level.
Local factors we account for in Pine Level: sustained humidity and sun and heat load — typical of the River Region.

- Look at the pivot firstOn a sagging storefront door the bottom pivot is the usual culprit, and everything else you might blame is a symptom of it.
- Check the closer independentlyWe disconnect and test the closer separately so we know whether the resistance is the closer or the door binding.
- Secure before you finishDeadlatch function comes first, because a shop that cannot lock its front door cannot close.
- Reset and square the doorPivots set, door squared in the opening, latch engaging cleanly without lifting or pulling.
- Set the closer to codeOpening force and closing speed set to accessible limits, with the latch speed adjusted so it closes without slamming. In the River Region we check for both humidity swelling and clay movement, because the two are easy to confuse and need different work.
- Work to your scheduleWe plan around trading hours so the entrance is not out of service during business.

- whether the pivots, closer, or both need replacing

Click to Call (205) 619-2895Storefront door repair in Pine Level: questions we get asked
Why does our storefront door drag at the top corner?
The bottom pivot has worn. The door is pivoting on a bearing that carries its entire weight, and when that wears the door drops and the top outside corner comes down against the frame. Replacing the pivot brings the whole door back into position.
Someone broke in and bent the frame. Is it repairable?
In most cases. Aluminum frames damaged at the lock and strike can be straightened and reinforced. We secure the opening first and then do the permanent repair.
Why is our door so hard for customers to open?
Usually the closer has been cranked up to force a misaligned door to latch. That is treating the symptom. Fix the alignment and the closer can go back to a comfortable setting that still latches.
Our front door will not lock at night. Can you come today?
That is exactly the call to make immediately. A Pine Level business that cannot secure its front entrance has a real problem, and getting the deadlatch working again is usually straightforward once we see it.
Do you replace storefront glass?
Yes, tempered glass for doors, sidelites and transoms. Board-up happens first so you can trade, and the glass follows once the unit is made.
Can you add a panic bar to our storefront door?
Yes, and depending on the occupancy of your Pine Level building it may be required. Exit devices can be fitted to most aluminum storefront doors.
